ERIC TRINE

Eric Trine est designer originaire de Californie qui vit et travaille aujourd'hui à Portland, Oregon. Il est diplomé de l'Université de Biola où il obtient son BFA en 2007 et est actuellement en dernière année du Master of Fine Art -option Applied Craft & design- proposé conjointement par le Pacific Northwest College of Art et le Oregon College of Art and Craft.

Passionné par la création et les matériaux bruts, ce jeune homme bourré de talent officie dans son propre atelier. Ses créations de mobilier présentent un design sobre, radical, inspiré par le Bauhaus. Le designer réalise lui-même les structures acier, qu'il laque et habille ensuite de corde, de cuir de buffle, de couvertures. Des pièces uniques aux antipodes d'un design bling, qui reflètent bien l'esprit de Portland, estampillée ville verte, où le recyclage, le home-made, le bio et la déconsommation ont été adoptés depuis plus de 20 ans!

 

Eric Trine is an object based studio artist and designer based in Portland, Oregon. His projects vary from small scale design/build for commercial clients, to commissioned furniture, to sculpture, to product design and development. In 2007, he graduated from Biola University with a BFA in interdisciplinary art. 

  

  

Nowadays, he's in the final year of graduate work in the Applied Craft and Design MFA program offered jointly by the Pacific Northwest College of Art and the Oregon College of Art and Craft.

Rod + Weave is a collection of chairs that he made specifically for the East, Meet West showcase, curated by designMilk and exhibited at Bobby Berk Home store in SoHo for NYC design week. He used Buffalo Shoulder Leather for the straps, and powder coated the frames a cool mint and pastel pink – or as someone pointed out – rainbow sherbet colors.
