COMPAS
GAMFRATESI

Compass is a clothes valet made of solid wood, created thanks to the transformation of technical-functional design details into graphic elements. In this piece, an extraordinarily iconic aesthetic is fashioned: the striking elements of the of the object – the compass in this particular case – lend the product a simple and essential form. Compass is available in three different finishes: natural oak, white and black, with metallic circular features and a leather strap. Natural oak, with natural leather strap and circular feature in red metal. White stained natural oak, with black leather strap and circular feature in black metal. Black stained natural oak, with black leather strap and circular feature in black metal.

STRIK
KRISTINA KJAER

Strik is a snuggly armchair, that consists of a frame made of ash tree and a knitted upholstery made of wool - a wooden “body” wearing a knitted “sweater”. The upholstery is reversible and can also be used as a blanket. Based on its materials and idiom Strik is rooted in the North and inspired by how we wrap ourselves in warm clothes to protect us from the cold.

SMS BOTTLE

Designed after a trip to Lausanne for French editor Edition Sous Etiquette, S.M.S. is a in response design. I designed S.M.S. after all the events related to the referendum against minarets in Switzerland. Its design has moved away from the missile or minaret archetypes to draw a medical bulb. Beyond its function there is talk about our contemporary world. S.M.S. is a vase raising questions. S.M.S. is scored. Like any citizen act, potentially, the choice remains: to refrain, for, against ... The color of glass is obtained simultaneously with its final appearance. This is only possible by the hand of the artisan-turner and his torch. This semi-scale production generate single vase variation. Variations bring poetry and give character to each vase.

COPENHAGUE COLLECTION
BOUROULLEC - HAY

HAY has invited Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec to design a new collection of furniture for the redesigned University of Copenhagen (KUA). The collection includes a wooden chair, a bar stool and several tables. The starting point for this series is an old university chair, architect Bernt Pedersen’s trestle chair. This chair is a simple and beautiful chair with an uncomplicated identity. In our interpretation we have upheld the original chair typology (trestle chair) and sought to maintain the compelling simplicity of the original chair. The seat and back are mounted in the centre of the seat creating a highly flexible and resilient comfort – the seat follows the movement of the user. The chair also has a flexible back, which bears similarity to the cantilever chairs, which was first designed by the Bauhaus school in Germany in the 1930’s.

TOSHI
CASAMANIA

Toshi, meaning city in Japanese, is a system of mobile containers which calls to mind the mosaic decorations to be found in certain buildings in tokyo. The fresh and essential lines optimise and emphasise the geometric design engraved on the doors of the pieces. each and every size of cupboard has its own distinct pattern, making the module unique. In addition, the toshi system is completed by three optional smaller containers, either with doors or drawers, which can be positioned on the modules themselves. The reference to Japanese architecture is obvious: a micro city which develops its essentiality in geometric shapes, in proportioned heights and tonal colours. Bearing the weight of the architectural conception of this new system, are two different versions of legs: a single, closed horizontal block, bringing to mind a podium; and another higher one, made up of four squared, metal legs, as if they were the columns of a portico.

TOAST
CASAMANIA

Toast is an upholstered seat, simple and essential. The seat is rendered comfortable thanks to a slim layer of padding and the graphic, visually arresting armrests which envelop the seat in a single swirl. The toast seating system creates a tender relationship with its user: a softened edge, soft form, delicate shades work together to create a soothing and welcoming sensation that is felt the instant you sit down. There are almost an infinity of choices: legs in fabric,  lacquered or chrome metal and in wood, the seat in fabric, leather, with or without armrests.
