La galerie parisienne YMER&MALTA présente sa troisième exposition collective intitulée "à Fleur de Peau". Réitérant l’expérience du jeu d’une matière unique de l’exposition « Marbre Poids Plume », Valérie Maltaverne a donné carte blanche à 5 designers pour imaginer des pièces audacieuses, poétiques et inspirées. A travers une série d’objets et pièces de mobilier, les designers A + A Cooren, Benjamin Graindorge, Sebastian Bergne, Normal Studio et Sylvain Rieu-Piquet livrent leur propre interprétation du cuir. Jouant sur les sensations et les contrastes des textures, des couleurs, des grains, mais aussi le souple et le dur, ils ont exploré le choix des possibles de la matière cuir.

 

“ Je souhaitais donner aux designers l’espace de création libre comme seule une galerie peut en offrir ”. Aucune contrainte donc, sinon la recherche incessante de la ligne parfaite et l’utilisation du cuir comme matière de référence. Autre point fort de l’exposition : le made in France. Profitant de l’incroyable vivier de talents qu’offre Paris, l’intégralité de la collection a pu être élaborée avec le concours des artisans franciliens.

YMER&MALTA presents its third collective exhibition entitled YMER&MALTA Skin-deep. Reiterating the experience of the single material exhibition « Marbre Poids Plume », Valérie Maltaverne gave carte blanche to 5 designers to come up with daring, poetic and inspired pieces. “ I wanted to give the designers the free creative space that only a gallery can offer ”. No constraints then, but an incessant search for the perfect line and the use of leather as material of reference.

Leather, an integral part of the world of interiors, is a natural but luxurious material. It is a symbol of strength and power, but nevertheless remains soft and sensual. Firm or silky to the touch, its odour can be unique, present. Its flower is alive. Throughout time, leather wears, wrinkles, and adds character. “ I wanted a federating material. One that was both familiar but the offered new and interesting perspectives to the designers ” explains Valérie Maltaverne.

Another mark in favour of this exhibition : everything is made in France. The entire collection was created using Paris-region craftsmen and women, thanks to the amazing breeding ground of talent available in Paris. Through a series of objects and pieces of furniture, the designers A + A Cooren, Benjamin Graindorge, Sebastian Bergne, Normal Studio and Sylvain Rieu-Piquet deliver their own interpretation of leather. They play with our senses, with the contrast in textures, colours, grains but also the supple and the hard, exploring all possible options of leather as a material.
