La suspension Ronde est la première création d'Oliver Schick pour Gubi. L'abat-jour à la forme archétypale de cloche fait référence au design des années 70, revu d'une manière plus contemporaine. Un très beau détail : l'ouverture sur le haut de la lampe qui rappelle le col d'un vase ou d'une amphore, dont on aurait coupé la base. Cette ouverture, outre la fonction d'aération, permet de diffuser la lumière vers le haut, et de créer une atmosphère tamisée, avec un joli jeu d'ombre et lumière. L'utilisation de l'aluminium laqué mat est assez intelligente : visuellement, ce matériau fait penser à de la céramique émaillée. 

Ronde est le terme utilisé dans plusieurs langues pour signifier rond, circulaire mais c'est aussi une technique de fabrication en 3 dimensions qui permet de mettre en forme une pièce en métal grâce à une technique rotative. Ronde est disponible en 2 tailles et 5 coloris : blanc, rouille, pigeon, anthracite et charbon.

The Ronde Pendant is Oliver Schick's first product for Gubi. The bell-shaped piece has reference to the traditional pendant lamp and the heyday of 1970s lightning design; however, in a modern interpretation. A unique detail is the opening on the top with an overhanging collar that reminds of a jar such as a vase or an amphora. The mainly downwards directed light from conventional pendant lamps does in this design also spread out of the spout-like opening and casts a smooth light gradient at the wire and ceiling. The hand-turned aluminum lamp shade with an ultra-matt lacquer almost makes it look as if it was made of ceramics.

Ronde is in several languages the word for round, circular or rotating but it is also the flat blank used for metal spinning technique, which is rotating around a mould core and shaped to a 3-dimensional body. The Ronde Pendant comes in two sizes and is available in five colors: Matt white, Rusty Red, Pigeon Grey, Anthracite og Charcoal Black.
