DIK SCHEEPERS - SERAX

Le céramiste hollandais Dik Scheepers n’est pas à la recherche de la perfection mais bien de produits livrant à leur acquéreur leurs secrets de fabrication. Tous les défauts involontaires constatés ultérieurement n’ont rien de dramatique, car ils mettent en avant la technique employée et rendent le produit encore plus intéressant aux yeux de Dik. La collection Cake imaginée pour l'éditeur Serax en est un bel exemple : toutes les traces du moulage sont conservées et renforcent le caractère unique et artisanal de chaque pièce.

 

 

 

 

 

 Designer Dik Scheepers is looking not for perfection, but simply for products that tell a story for viewers about how they were made or that reveal the process behind the piece. The underlying idea is that we learn something about the product itself and about how it came to be. In this context, unintentional mistakes are no bad thing; they emphasise the technique and, in Dik’s view, make the product more interesting. The Cake collection is a good example of this approach.
