BEND SEATING

Bend est une maison d'édition de mobilier et d'objets américaine, basée à Los Angeles et fondée par Gaurav Nanda. Bend s'est fait connaître en lançant une série de chaises et fauteuils construits à partir de tiges de métal pliées et laquées (un peu comme les collections de Bertoia pour Knoll), d'où le nom "Bend", qui veut justement dire plier en anglais. La collection s'inspire du mobilier traditionnel Amish en osier, revu et corrigé avec de nouveaux matériaux et coloris.

Bend is a furniture and product design house based in Los Angeles. Just as lines are written to create a story, Bend collections are designed to create structures inspired by our lives. The wire chairs are made up of intricate arrangements of wires or lines through a hand crafted method of shaping and spot welding, a process the designers like to call ‘bending.’ Each bend is carefully arranged to ensure structural strength, while the angles of the back, the curves of the seat, and the closeness of the wires are designed to encourage relaxation and utility.
