GAMFRATESI - LIGNE ROSET
GamFratesi est un studio de design créé en 2006 à Copenhague par l’architecte danoise Stine Gam et l’architecte italien Enrico Fratesi. Ce couple italo-danois incarne deux talentueuses traditions de design européen : l’union magique entre le design du sud et le design du nord. Ils revendiquent clairement cette synthèse de leurs deux cultures comme base d’inspiration de leur travail commun.
Après leur bureau-bulle Rewrite (2011) et leur rangement- boîte à couture Picnic (2012), l’étonnement esthétique provient à nouveau de la rencontre inattendue entre le déjà vu et un élément nouveau surprenant : pour Nubo, la simple tablette murale gain de place se métamorphose en boîte précieuse, évoquant une mallette de voyage aux formes savonnées, telle la valisette Air France en tissu bleu des années 60 : sa forme en nuage arrondi et son association à la fois lumineuse et chaleureuse de chêne naturel et de lainage bleu ciel participent du même registre vintage scandinave.
The GamFratesi design studio was founded in Copenhagen in 2006 by Danish architect Stine Gam and Italian architect Enrico Fratesi. This Italian-Danish duo embodies two gifted European design traditions: the magical union between the design of the South and that of the North. They clearly consider this synthesis of their two cultures to be the inspirational base of their shared work. After their Rewrite ‘desk-bubble’ (2011) and their Picnic storage/sewing box (2012), new aesthetic astonishment is provided by the unexpected meeting between the ‘déjà vu’ and a surprising new element : with Nubo, the simple space-saving wall shelf metamorphoses into a treasure box, evocative of a suitcase with its bar of soap-like lines – like the Air France blue fabric travelling case of the 1960s : its rounded cloud shape and its luminous yet warm association of natural oak and sky blue wool fabric also fall into the same vintage Scandinavian register.
