EVANGELOS VASILEIOU - LIGNE ROSET
Né en 1976 à Athènes, Evangelos Vasileiou étudie à Paris à Camondo. Il poursuit ses études et obtient également un diplôme d’architecte DPLG. Basé à Paris, il s’associe en 2005 à Aurélie Cristofari pour gérer des projets d’architecture et d’aménagement intérieur. En 2008, il crée une deuxième agence à Athènes. Parallèlement, il collabore avec Ligne Roset depuis 2005. Plusieurs de ses créations figurent actuellement à la collection dont le portemanteau best-seller Clara (2006) et la table en noyer massif Trapèze (2006).
Mobilier féminin par excellence, la coiffeuse Juliette est particulièrement gracieuse. Son corps repose sur quatre pieds en acier laqué noir dont l’extrême finesse évoque la légèreté de talons aiguilles (rappelons d’ailleurs que les talons des véritables stilettos sont renforcés par une tige en acier trempé). L’espace coiffeuse présente un grand plan de travail. Il est complété d’un tiroir et d’un second espace de rangement fermé par un couvercle relevant. Ce relevant dissimule sur sa face intérieure un grand miroir à utiliser en position ouverte. L’ensemble est réalisé en placage de noyer blond américain qui apporte une touche à la fois précieuse et chaleureuse.
Born in Athens in 1976, Evangelos Vasileiou studied at the École Camondo in Paris. He continued his studies and also qualified as an ‘Architecte DPLG’. Based in Paris, he teamed up with Aurélie Cristofari in 2005 to run architectural and interior design projects. In 2008, he founded a second agency in Athens. He has been collaborating with Ligne Roset since 2005. Several of his creations feature in the current collection, including the best-selling Clara coat stand (2006) and the Trapèze table in solid walnut (2006). Feminine furniture par excellence, the Juliette dressing table is particularly graceful. Its body rests on four black lacquered steel legs, the extreme slimness of which evokes the lightness of stiletto heels (not forgetting, of course, that the hells of real stilettos are reinforced with a toughened steel stem). The dressing table space offers a large work surface. This is complemented by a drawer and a second storage space closed by a lift-up cover. This cover has a large mirror on its internal face, which can be used when the cover is in open position. The whole piece is covered in blond American walnut, which brings a touch of both richness and warmth.
