OUTOFSTOCK - LIGNE ROSET

Créé en 2006, Outofstock est un collectif de designers formé de Gabriel Tan et Wendy Chua de Singapour, Sébastian Alberdi d’Espagne et Gustaves Maggio d’Argentine. Leur studio de design est né d’une rencontre fortuite à Stockholm, d’où le nom Outofstock. Ils travaillent à la fois en architecture d’intérieur et en design de produits et mobilier. Animés d’une énergie créative enrichie de leurs différentes origines culturelles, ils définissent eux-mêmes leur travail comme « le résultat de la conversation entre le designer et l’artisan ». 

Comme l’ont montré leurs précédentes réalisations, par exemple leurs tables basses Hues pour Cinna, ils aiment jouer avec les formes géométriques et leurs combinaisons... Avec le miroir/rangement Vanity Shelf, suspendu par une unique sangle de cuir à une patère, ils ont cherché le juste équilibre – au sens propre comme au sens figuré – entre les deux formes (circulaire et rectangulaire) et les fonctionnalités (miroir et rangement à tablette). Chaque élément trouve sa juste place en appui sur l’autre. Vanity Shelf peut s’installer dans une entrée comme miroir/vide-poche ou une salle de bain (miroir/étagère).

Founded in 2006, Outofstock is a collective of designers comprising Gabriel Tan and Wendy Chua from Singapore, Sébastian Alberdi from Spain and Gustaves Maggio from Argentina. Their design studio was born out of a fortuitous meeting in Stockholm, hence the name Outofstock. They are currently focussing on interior architecture and the design of both products and furniture. Driven by a creative energy enriched by their various cultural origins, they define their work as, “the result of the conversation between designer and artisan.” Voted “Young Designers of the Year” by the Spanish Elle Decoration magazine in 2010, they now collaborate with a range of international brands. As evidenced by their previous creations, (for example their Hues low tables), they love to play with geometric forms and their combinations: with the Vanity Shelf mirror/storage, hung from a hook by a single leather strap, they have found the perfect balance – in both the real and the figurative sense – between the two shapes (circular and rectangular) and their functionalities (mirror and shelf storage). Each element finds its own place, each resting against the other. Vanity Shelf may be located in a hallway as a mirror/trinket holder, or in a bathroom (mirror/shelf).
