FRONT - PORRO

Entamée en 2009, la collaboration entre les 3 designers suédois de Front et l'éditeur italien Porro continue en 2013 avec le lancement de Mikado, un produit fascinant mêlant une surprenante légèreté à une apparence quasi exotique. Conçu comme une unité de stockage pour des espaces de vie, Mikado présente une structure en bois mince et des portes composées d'une rangée double de lamelles en bois inclinées et décalées, qui permettent de voir ou de cacher les éléments contenus à l'intérieur du meuble, alternant visibilité et dissimulation. Cette création est un clin d'oeil évident à l'Orient, un hommage aux meubles faits à la main en bois précieux ou en bambou et aux cages anciennes qui contenaient toutes sortes d'animaux rares. 

In 2013 continues the collaboration between Porro and the three Swedish designers known as Front, who have worked with the company since 2009, specialize in producing attractive designs that complement Porro’s minimalistic shapes and in reinterpreting and updating high-quality workmanship. The first of the their new items for 2013 to make its debut is the Mikadocupboard : an intriguing product offering a captivating lightness and an exotic look. Designed as a storage unit for living areas, Mikado features a slender wood structure and doors made up of a double row of slanted and staggered wooden slats, which allow a glimpse of the contents of the unit in an appealing play of visibility and concealment. The sideboard brings to mind the Orient, unique hand-made furniture made of delicate wood sticks or bamboo, and wonderful cages created to hold fantastical creatures.
